Alysa
Alysa is crafted from an eclectic blend of Grenache, Syrah, old vine Carignane and a dollop of Viognier.
For years we have been fans of blended red wines from California. They are released at a good price, with plenty of rich fruit and character.
Our reservations come from the tendency to get that richness through high alcohol, rather than purity of fruit.
Then, after the first killer vintage or two, the label is sold and the quality downgraded.
At Compass Rose we are determined to create a wine with Alysa that starts full of fruit and character and stays true to that style year after year.
This delicious wine is packed with flavor, without too much alcohol.
